Since
his election, Chuck has served a number of roles with the Reform Party of
Canada and in the Canadian Alliance. He has worked closely with both
Preston Manning and Stockwell Day in key roles. He has taken on more and
more responsibility, serving as Deputy Caucus Co-ordinator, Public Service
Critic, Critic of Natural Resources and Chief Whip of the Official
Opposition. He participated in the Foreign Affairs Review as a Member of
the House of Commons Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and
International Trade and sat on the Standing Committee on Natural
Resources. Chuck
is now the Official Opposition House Leader for the Canadian Alliance, and
one of the party’s experts on Parliamentary Procedure. He is also a
member of the Board of Internal Economy and serves as Vice-Chair of the
Standing Committee for Procedure and House Affairs. In his role as House
Leader, Chuck is part of the team that helps set the agenda for the
Canadian Alliance in the House of Commons. In that role he is responsible
for negotiating the parliamentary agenda with House Leaders of the other
parties in Parliament. Chuck is also one of the key spokesmen for the Canadian Alliance in the national media, informing them about Alliance policies, plans, and positions on a regular basis. He is currently a member of Stockwell Day’s Strategy Team, developing initiatives to prepare the Alliance for governing. |
